Administration and Engineering

The Ross County Engineer's administrative offices are located at 755 Fairgrounds Road, across the road from the Ross County Fairgrounds and just past the Ross County Water Company less than a mile from the intersection with SR 104.  Fairgrounds Road intersects SR 104 approximately four miles north of Chillicothe. 

Normal office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Garage and Supply Storage

The above directions also apply to get to the Ross County Garage and storage areas, which are located at 755 Fairgrounds Road behind the administrative offices.  The Highway Superintendent is Michael "Mike" Buchanan..

Under Mike's direction William "Gene" Pollard leads a vehicle maintenance team for all our equipment, vehicles, or anything else they have to tackle to keep us operating smoothly.  Charles "Chuck" Schrader maintains the parts and supply inventory control, and the related ordering and receiving.

The hours of operation for the garage and road maintenance section change during the summer months when they work four 10 hour days from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  Otherwise, the hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Engineer's Map Room

The Engineer's Map Room is located in the lower level of the County Courthouse on North Paint Street in downtown Chillicothe.  Enter the Courthouse through the door with the word “TREASURER” above it, which is to the right of the colonnade on the front of the Courthouse.  Proceed back the hallway and down a flight of stairs on the left.  The Map Room is at the far end of the hallway on the left side.

Normally, there are parking spots in a public lot reached by going west in the alley between the courthouse and law enforcement/jail complex or by entering off of West Second Street.

Paula Miller is the supervisor of the Map Room.

The Map Room hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
